bio

My work is an expression of my response to the world around me and the people I meet. I have loved making these images and I hope that you enjoy them.

With a background in the traditional wet darkroom, I now work largely in the "digital darkroom". However, it is very important to me to maintain the integrity and quality of my images. I have therefore worked hard to transfer the skills I learned in the wet darkroom to the area of digital processing, hopefully without compromising any of the quality and magic that I love about working with chemicals.

I work with 35mm and medium format film cameras, developing and scanning my own film, and a full frame digital camera. I print all my own work on archival paper with K3 pigment inks.

I held several small shows in Anchorage and my work was featured in the local press, the Anchorage Daily News. My photographs of musicians were used to promote the Alaska Jazz Workshop.

This website is very much a work in progress. I am continually working on images from Alaska, where I lived for six years, and now on new work in Scotland, where I have returned to live. These portfolios will be added to on a regular basis, so please return to the site to see how it is developing.
